Reporter Nonni here ... This just in from the Chafin family in Austin.

The month of February was a milestone for one of the little Chafin ladies. Miss Evie turned FIVE!

To celebrate her birthday and in keeping with Covid measures we brought the party to her. Hers was a drive-by birthday party complete with balloons, baby Yoda cupcakes and presents.

Momz, Scot, Angie and I took a table, cupcakes and all the party things to their apartment. It was very windy. We had to put rocks on the table cloth to keep it from blowing away.

Evie was dressed so cute in a beautiful pale pink long gown-type dress. She looked like a little princess. Ellie was dressed so cute, too. She came outside wearing her pointed birthday party hat which eventually turned into a horn. Evie loved all her gifts, her cupcakes (especially the icing) and she loved her birthday cards ... like really loved them. There's a picture of her hugging the card. The one I got her played music.

These Covid times we're living in have created a situation where parents and kids are forced to think outside the box. Here's one example of that. Tanya sent me the following text about playing a family game ...

“Oh goodness, I have to tell you. We played Charades with the girls for the first time ever this morning. For Evie's first card, she laid flat on the ground face down and did not move. We guessed and guessed for a good 5 minutes, all the while she just laid there with her arms at her sides face down not moving. She was being a sandwich. I may have to get her to reenact it later and send a picture. It was so hard not to laugh hysterically at her. So funny. But she was so determined to keep being that sandwich.

“Are you a log?”

*muffled little voice* “no.”

“Are you a paper?”

*muffled little voice* “no.”

And on and on and on. Makes me laugh just picturing her. She is an excellent little statue. I see a future for her on Hollywood Blvd as one of those statue people. Hehehe.”
