HOW ABOUT THAT MOTHER'S DAY?!!!

Mothers! Mothers! Mothers! They're everywhere! They're everywhere! At Hays City Store, at least.

GOOD TO KNOW
Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.
At first, Mother's Day in our family was really gloomy with our precious Angie in the hospital with a serious blood pressure issue. She said she was sorry for ruining my Mother's Day family get-together. We had planned a celebration meal at Palmer's, a favorite place where we like to have our get-togethers. And then Juli suggested we go down the road to Hays City Store and I agreed to have our Mother's Day get-together there. Robin, Patti, Scot, Juli, John and I had to wait for a table but Juli knows a few tricks and got us one of the tall tables outside. We enjoyed being there amongst the many other families honoring their mothers. A wonderful cool breeze added to the fun we enjoyed. I was happy to see two little girls at a table right near us running around the area where their family sat. I “happened” to have some painted rocks in my purse and I gave each little girl one. Their grandmother came over to our table to chat a few minutes. There were many more tables of families celebrating Mother’s Day.

GOOD TO KNOW
To get rid of itch from mosquito bites, try applying soap on the area and you will experience instant relief.
My Mother's Day ended up being really special. We, Robin, Patti and Juli, kept Angie in on the goings on by FaceTime. Juli had a card and a beautiful gift sack that she handed to me. Well, I picked up gift after gift, each wrapped separately in colorful tissue paper, and I realized that all six of

my kids had given me a beautifully painted river rock that they had “stolen” out of my purse! I kept saying “this came from my purse!” and “this came from my purse” for each one. The river rocks are painted by Angie's friend, Debbie, in memory of her son.

If you cross a carrier pigeon with a woodpecker you get a bird that carries messages and knocks on the door when it arrives.
The real meaning of the little gift rocks is that they plan to honor me with a memory rock garden at The EmilyAnn Theatre in Popz's memorial garden. My memory garden will be called “Momz's Blessing Stones” and will be filled with beautiful painted river stones. People who walk by can take or leave a stone ... or two or three. That is so very sweet. I am truly blessed.

April is a very important and busy month what with so many birthdays and the whole area turning blue with our state flower BLUEBONNETS ... but another event has been our annual BUTTERFLY FESTIVAL where we gather to release thousands of beautiful butterflies ... many in memory of loved ones ... I would like to virtually release a few but one in particular is for my beloved grandson Jason who left us too soon.
