Momz's Pie Crust
375 degrees |

Mix well: |
2½ cups flour |
|
1 tsp salt |
Add: |
6 Tbsp butter - chilled & cubed |
|
¾ cup Crisco shortening |
|
½ cup ice water |
Using a pastry cutter, cut butter & shortening into the mixture until it resembles pea size bits. Drizzle ice cold water into mixture,
1 Tbsp at a time. Stir with a fork after each addition of ice water. DO NOT ADD MORE WATER THAN YOU NEED,
Stir with fork until dough holds together.
Divide dough in half and, using your hands, flatten each half into 1” thick discs. Wrap each disc with Handiwrap™ and put in the
refrigerator for 2 hours. Roll out until dough is a little larger than your pie plate. Place in pie plate & poke a few holes in the bottom
of the crust and bake. Makes 2 pie crusts.
